Black Asians in Giant Robot magazine

Black Asians in Giant Robot magazine

An article on the indigenous blacks of Southeast Asia, aka the Negritos, has been published in the current issue of Giant Robot magazine (Issue 64).

Giant Robot is a bi-monthly magazine whose primary focus is Asian and Asian-American pop culture. Articles in GR also regularly cover a broad range of subjects, including explorations of Asia's varied cultures and peoples.

In the current issue of Giant Robot, Paco Taylor (editor of Kung Fu Grip! zine), offers a thoughtful introduction to Asia's oldest, but most little known peoples: the black Asians of Southern Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and the Andaman Islands.

According to the writer, "This piece was inspired by my father, who spent time in Southeast Asia as a young Marine. The subject is one that's close to my heart and it is an honor to have the chance to cover it in the pages of Giant Robot. I hope that readers will give this issue [of GR] a glance."

Giant Robot, a 15-year old publication, is carried by the nation's largest book sellers, including Borders and Barnes & Noble. It is also on the racks of newsstands and comic book shops across the country. Look for your copy of Giant Robot (GR64) today!
